Content: My name is Bart Symons. Somewhere in the early 2000s, I completed my studies in pedagogical sciences and applied social care in Antwerp (Belgium) and Aberdeen (Scotland).
Over the past 20+ years, I have worked for and with Emmaüs – one of the largest care organisations in the Flanders region of Belgium. My main professional focus has been the development, training and implementation of specialized evidence based programs, primarily on the topics of youth care, young offenders, leadership, and quality of care.
In the upcoming webinar, we will explore REFLEC, an intersectoral quality model where I had the opportunity to help develop and implement it in various sectors and levels of care.
The REFLEC-model is based on the findings of a broad three-year scientific study within care facilities active in youth care, psychiatric care, disability care and general healthcare. Despite their differences, these care settings share a fundamental principle: they not only work with people, they ‘are’ people!
REFLEC offers a structured and hands on approach to enhancing the quality of care at all levels relevant to a care facility. At its core, the model is inter-sectoral, ensuring that collaboration leads to better outcomes for individuals and communities.
Over the past years I have worked with various organisations and teams to implement the model. I look forward to share insights on its implementation in your practice!
